Hyper is a fast-paced, multiplayer arena combat game. For an early alpha game, it’s already incredibly polished with excellent audio, crisp visuals, and a surprisingly active player base as well you’ll find a variety of weapons.
There are different types of locomotion like movement, sliding, dashing, and also fun sliding on rail tracks.
To get this installed on your quest you need to join their discord which I’ll link to, and it’s a couple of extra steps to install but absolutely worth it
Deadshot Heroes is a fully-featured first-person shooter MOBA style game, including both solo play and multiplayer.
The game initially came out on Steam, but there’s now a free port available on the quest through side quests. This port is the same as the full game on Steam, and I found the depth of gameplay impressive
The goal is to take down all of the opposing team’s towers while defending your towers against their advances.
In the pregame Lobby, you choose the class of your bots as well as the bots of your allies and opponents.
If you’re playing multiplayer that each player decides for themselves besides the bots of yourself and your allies, smaller minion bots are automatically spawned from the towers.
So in the heat of combat, there’s a lot of bots to keep track of. The game provides a variety of locomotion options, which is great because you’ll need to be moving a lot.
The game combat gets intense, and the strategy becomes surprisingly deep. Don’t let the simple graphics fool you if you’re craving arena strategy combat then this is a must-play
Terminated quest has you living inside the Terminator movie. Between the war of man and machine rages on, you wander around in an open environment destroy as many terminators as you can.
When you run out of ammo, eject the magazine and then refill by pressing the gun against the magazine, which is always floating in front of you.
On your left hand, you can see your score and health meter. Though I will say that the developers nailed the sound design and the recreated soundtrack is spot-on and instantly teleported me into the movie.
The atmosphere of Terminated Quest is perfect, and it makes me wish for a full-length and legit VR game like this, and maybe one day, we’ll have that.
Legendary tales is an RPG dungeon crawler that has a lot going for it most notably it features physics-based fighting.
The sword blocking and striking feel legit, and it’s a fascinating element of the gameplay, but you’re not limited to just swords you can acquire other weapons as well.
It just requires you to sell your blood in some kind of an altar; you know something we all do every day. Along with the multiple weapons and armors comes detailed stats and equipping options inside the settings.
The current version of the game only has one level but multiple difficulty levels I’m quite excited to see how this game develops it’s off to a fantastic start.
Sweeper VR is a 3d version of minesweeper. So this is yet another VR port of a classic game, but this one I enjoyed a little more because even though it’s in 3d the graphics are identical to what they were in the original, but the design has a nice retro gaming feel.
The minefield is fully customizable. You can choose the size of the playfield and how many mines there should be. The difficulty buttons above the sliders are simply preset for the two sliders themselves. I recommend every quest owner try this at least once it’s pretty cool.
Cubism is a beautiful and simple yet challenging VR puzzle game with a minimal aesthetic where you have to assemble increasingly complex shapes out of smaller puzzle pieces.
You need to arrange all the 3d shapes to fill up every block of a play area presented to you. It starts off really easy but gets challenging quickly.
Cubism is being developed by a single developer Thomas van Buell, and It’s a delightful Free VR puzzle game, and I highly recommend it.
Horror Nights' story
Horror Nights’ story is an interesting one because it features a cartoony light-hearted visual style, but despite that, it features jump scares. The goal is to destroy the mine by deploying five bombs each level that you play.
To plant the bombs, you use your pickaxe to dig away at a tunnel until you reach the right spot to plant them, but there’s also some multitasking.
Because there are four tunnels that monsters come out of while you’re digging, you need to go in those tunnels to light fires and scare the monsters off to keep them at bay.
If you enjoy jump scares, then give it a shot. This game isn’t in the sidequest library; you’ll need to download it from the website. Just drag and drop to apk file into sidequest to install it
Labradory VR is a VR puzzle challenge where you get to release some delicious meatballs from a dispenser in the ceiling.
Still, the problem is to use available objects in the room to get the meatballs to the trapped Labrador to enjoy.
There are seven puzzle levels in total, and at first, all of the objects float in the air, so it’s pretty simple, but later levels will introduce objects with gravity and physics, so balancing will be essential.
And the final level has the greatest challenge of all because there’s only a single meatball to deliver, and you have to find a way to get it over the top of the wall.
So there are not that many levels, but beating all of them will take quite a bit of time.
Ninja Legends VR
Ninja legends is one of my favorite oculus quest games, and there’s a free demo you can download and try for yourself. In this demo, you have to survive as long as you can in a single level of 360 surroundings.
The ninja combat is superb casual arcade action, and I find it so much fun to deflect the ninja stars and slice through these ninjas like butter.
It’s a little strange that this demo is only available on the sidequest store when the full ninja Legends game is available on the official quest store, but for some reason, that’s the way it is.
If you haven’t played ninja legends before then, I highly recommend you download and try the demo; it’s super fun.
Path Craft VR
In path craft, a charming little robot needs to collect all the treasure chests, but it’s not the smartest robot around.
So you need to move blocks around to ensure the robots safely make it through the course sort of like a single lemming game except that you don’t interact with the robot.
There are 30 levels total progressing with increased level complexity, and there’s even a level editor
N.a.N Industry VR
N.a.N Industry VR is a massive puzzle game that really impressed me. And many VR enthusiasts say that “N.a.N Industry is an Absolute Gem Of A Puzzle Game On SideQuest,” and I absolutely agree with them.
The goal is to get various collections of blue cubes from the starting point to the target, and you do that by building a factory assembly line to transport the blue cubes to where they need to go.
At first, you’ll be dealing with just conveyor belts, but eventually, you’ll be using many many kinds of tools, including even carving out unique shapes within groups of blue cubes to be accepted.
It’s a little confusing at first, but you will get the hang of it. I really enjoyed the overall feel and design of this puzzle game, and there is an absolute ton of levels to choose from.
It even comes with an end VR level creator and editor if you’re a puzzle fan then I highly recommend it. It’s an awesome free VR game for the oculus quest.
