This NEW METRO VR game looks amazing! – Metro Awakening VR

VR gamers have been waiting for Metro VR for years, and finally, the next chapter in the METRO franchise is here! Believe it or not, it’s a VR game—Metro Awakening VR.

If you don’t know, the Metro franchise is known for having “banger after banger” and judging by the trailer, I think it’s another BANGER for the Metro franchise.

Metro Awakening VR is made by the esteemed team at Vertigo Games (known for Arizona Sunshine, A Fisherman’s Tale) in collaboration with Deep Silver ( the creators of Saints Row and Metro). The game is set to release on all major VR platforms; Meta Quest, PSVR 2, and PCVR in 2024.

Samar Louwe, the Associate Game Director at Vertigo Games, expressed on the PlayStation Blog

We’re proud to say that, with the support of Deep Silver, for the last two and a half years we’ve been working to bring the post-apocalyptic world of Metro to PS VR2 in 2024.

The hard work of the past two and a half years is clearly evident in the Reveal Trailer of the game. The graphics, the environment, the gun’s lock ‘n’ loads, and the overall intensity is what I expect from a Metro Game.

The whole comment section was like — Holy hell, Hell Yess, Vertigo Game is on fire (might be taking lessons from Half-life Alyx), Holy freaking Molly can’t believe this sensation is coming to VR — Man I’m so hyped right now.

The entire comment section was ablaze with excitement—phrases like “OHH YESS,” “Hell yeah,” and “Vertigo Games is on fire (perhaps taking lessons from Half-Life Alyx)” flooded the comments. “Holy freaking Molly, can’t believe this sensation is coming to VR—I’m so hyped right now.”

Dmitry Glukhovsky, the best-selling author of the Metro franchise, has penned the scenario for this game. For some, “It is already the best news of this year,” and indeed it is.

Another AAA game and a long-awaited franchise is coming to the VR platform. First Half-Life Alyx, then Hitman, Gran Turismo, Assassin’s Creed, and now finally, Metro.

The community is saying that the game is “Half-Life Alyx but Metro inspired” but in my opinion, it’s a compliment rather than a negative critique. Being compared to a game that is the epitome of VR gaming then I am all in for it.

We need more games like Half-Life Alyx—AAA titles with full-blown story campaigns and immersion like no other.
