The First Minutes Of Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom

The game starts off with you in a van, explaining you your backstory and controls… The van stopped at a mansion and its time to meet the one and only Mr Thomas Shelby, leader of the infamous Peaky Blinders.

As I stepped out of the mansion and onto the bustling & gritty streets of Birmingham, and suddenly music started playing. The second I heard that song, I felt an undeniable rush of excitement.

A song that is the synonym of Peaky Blinders; “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds…

I didn’t even expect that this song will be in the game. I couldn’t help but dance along as the intro credits rolled before me.

And when I finished my “song walk” the only thing that came out of my mouth was, “Holy Sh”t, That’s how you make an intro sequence of a game”

Finally, it was time to meet Mr Thomas Shelby. So I went inside the garrison pub and let me tell you, they have implemented the Slow-Motion Character Introductions so perfectly, like when Thomas Shelby walked out of the room to meet me, I felt another Goosebump down my neck…

He offered me a cigarette with his signature charm, asking, “Do You Still Smoke?”, I thought, who can say NO to you Sir?

And then he explained to me what I needed to do and what are my next steps. By the time our conversation was over,

I knew I was hooked; It was THE perfect introduction to the world of Peaky Blinders…

The First Half Of Peaky Blinders VR

I admit that The pacing of the first part is slow, However, things picked up when the first action scene comes when I teamed up with Arthur Fu*king Shelby to take down the Winter children.

And right at the end came one of the Standout scenes of the game: the one where Arthur attacks the backstabber and says you don’t mess with the Peaky Fu*king Blinders…

He’s one of the most beloved characters in the show, and he’s just as badass in the game.

When you team up with him, you’ll feel unstoppable. The way Arthur handled that situation was a testament to his character and the game’s noteworthy writing…

The Second Half Of Peaky Blinders VR

The second half of this game is absolutely amazing, I won’t spoil any details but I just wanna assure you that the second half is 10 on 10… From the music to experiencing how the story unfolds literally before your eyes…

Another standout feature of the game is that The actors who play the Shelby family members in the show have reprised their roles for the game.

They bring the same level of intensity and emotion to their performances, making you feel like you’re a part of the show.

And the background music fades perfectly from normal scenes to action scenes…

The Cigarette Mechanic

The cigarette mechanic in this game is one of the most realistic and must-have game mechanics if you’re making a Peaky Blinders-inspired VR game…

It’s so cool how you can light a cigarette, take a drag, watch the smoke swirl & slowly dissipate.

But let me tell you if you don’t know where your trusty lighter is then you’ll be left fumbling in the dark, just like a blind man. I learned that the hard way, but you don’t have to.

Trust me, watch this video before you jump into the world of Peaky Blinders VR and you’ll be puffing away like a peaky blinder in no time.

What IS Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom?

In this game, you won’t be explicitly told what you need to do next – instead, the game will provide subtle clues about your next move by placing “THINGS” around the virtual world.

These objects can range from hammers or the characters telling you WHAT YOU NEED TO DO…

I know some of you might be expecting a high-octane, action-packed game, but I’m not going to sugarcoat it: This isn’t a game for adrenaline junkies or trigger-happy gamers, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom is something entirely different.

It’s more of a slow burn, a simmering pot of tension and drama that steadily builds to a boiling point.

But if you’re patient and willing to let the story unfold, you’ll be rewarded with a gripping and immersive experience that feels like you’re right in the middle of a Peaky Blinders episode.

What Other Reviewers Are Saying?

A lot of reviewers are saying that the “GRAPHICS” of this game is BAD.

but WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT from a Standalone VR Headset?… if you’ll compare the game’s graphics with PCVR then in that sense every Quest game is BAD.

I didn’t encounter any game-braking bugs during my Gameplay, and yes, you can play this game while sitting or standing; it’s up to you…

Trust me every time I played this game, I was like,

Is this game really running on my Meta Quest 2?

The CONCLUSION: For Whom This Game Is For?

Well, if you’re a fan of the show, then this game is an absolute must-play. You get to explore the world of The Peaky Blinders and interact with its iconic characters in a way that wasn’t possible before.

You can see the streets of Birmingham, the Garrison Pub, and other iconic locations in the VR

But What If You’re Not A Fan Or Haven’t Watched The Show Before? Would You Still Enjoy The Game? The Answer Is YES

The game does an excellent job of introducing you to the world of Peaky Blinders and its characters and you might even become a fan of the show after playing it.

So grab your flat cap and join the Peaky Blinders in their quest for the King’s Ransom. You won’t regret it.

Until Then Stay Strong VR Army!
